Freely
Take just one minute for yourself. Right now, wherever you are. Pause, and notice — what is actually happening?
Use your senses — sense down into your feet, or your chair. Into the ground that is holding you up. Into the earth which holds the ground. Into the universe which holds the Earth.
Notice what's actually happening. You are being held up right now, supported by everything.
Notice your breath. No matter what has happened in life — your whole life, and still now — your breath has never stopped. It's always been there for you. And it's there for you now.
Don't think about it, notice it. Feel it.
It's easy to take for granted the things that are always there for us. But the things that are always there for us are the most important things.
It's important for us to pause, and remember — physically remember — that the most important things are always here for us, in abundance.
Notice one more thing about the support and the breath...
What happens if you let go a little more of your body and let it sink into the chair or the ground beneath your feet? Do you notice what happens in your body when you do that? And do you notice what happens to the ground beneath you — does it run out of support if you take too much?
There is so much more support available to us — a practically infinite amount. And the only thing standing in the way of more is us. Our belief — that we have to hold ourselves up.
What happens if you let go a little more of your breath? Instead of taking it in, or pushing it out, try just letting go of it. Notice what happens in your body. Notice what happens to the air around you — does it run out if you take too much?
There is practically infinite breath to breathe, always surrounding us. We never need to conserve. We never need to try to breathe. In fact, the more we let go of the breath, the deeper the breath becomes. Almost as if we are being breathed.
Not only are the most important things in life always here for us, but they're here in abundance. The only thing standing in the way of more is us — our belief that it's up to us to survive, to hold ourselves up, to take what we need and get rid of what is toxic. But all the while life continues to flow. Freely.
